The Person Who Might Succeed Ruto In 2032, It’s Not Gachagua; How Ugandan MP Secretly Used Matatu From Nairobi to Kampala & CS Nominee in Trouble as DPP Goes For Her Over Fraud Case

Good morning,

For the past few weeks there has been an uproar over Kenyans working abroad specifically the gulf countries undergoing untold suffering in the hands of their employers.

In efforts to eke a living in the greener pastures many have flown out of the country as healthy individuals and returned home in bad health conditions or in coffins.

As a result, the Central Organization Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli says the government should be involved in negotiating working terms for domestic workers in Arab counties

Atwoli also wanted the government to ban the employment agencies after disturbing video of ‘Kenyan woman breastfeeding dogs in Saudi Arabia’ emerged.

However, the Association of Skilled Migrant Agencies of Kenya (ASMAK) termed the video fake.

Kenya Women Parliamentary Association (Kewopa) yesterday asked the government to impose a total ban on the deployment of domestic workers to the Middle East.

Led by Kewopa chairperson and Githunguri lawmaker Gathoni Wamuchomba, the leaders said it is regrettable that young girls who seek greener pastures return home in coffins.

Legisltors have since called on the government to provide data on the actual number of girls who are currently working in the Middle East countries and the measures being taken to protect them from further mistreatment.

What do you think about Kewopa’s  request to impose a total ban on deployment of domestic workers to the Middle East?
