Burnley, Arsenal Share Spoils at The Turf Moor

Burnley and Arsenal played out to a barren draw in a closely fought clash at the Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon.

Noth teams created chances but failed to utilize them and in the end settled for a point each.

Arsenal nearly went ahead inside the first two minutes but Alexandre Lacazette failed to keep his header on target from a very prime position.

The Gunners continued to show their attacking intent. Captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang had an attempt towards goal in the 14th minute but he failed to hit the target as the Gunners went all out in search of a goal.

Burnley managed to resist the visitors’ onslaught and slowly grew into the game game. Their first attempt came in the 19th minute through Jay Rodriguez who unsuccessfully hit the target.

Lacazette, Matteo Guendouzi and Shkodran Mustafi all came close for the Gunners but they failed to break the deadlock. Rodriguez, Dwight McNeil and Ben Mee had the hosts’ chances but they equally failed to score. The first half ended barren.

The second stanza started on a balanced note with both teams keen on scoring . Rodriguez, Chris Wood, Jeff Hendricks, James Tarkowski all had chances for the hosts but failed to break the deadlock. Arsenal barely created any meaningful opportunities.

The Gunners showed more attacking intent as the clock ticked. Granit Ghaka was denied by a superb block from Burnley defenders while Hector Bellerin put his attempt off target. Aubameyang failed to keep his header on target as they went all out in search of a goal.

12 minutes from time, the hosts got the best chance to break Arsenal supporters’ hearts but Jay Rodriguez saw his shot come off the upright much to the dismay of the home fans. None of the sides could find the back of the net and the clash ended barren.
