Uhuru Assigns Special Project to Matiang’i Hours After Vowing to Work on his Own

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday tasked Interior CS, Fred Matiang’i, with the supervision of the construction of a school at the Ruiru GSU camp.

This came just hours after the head of state angrily vowed to oversee development projects himself, since the representatives that he had been sending to launch and supervise such initiatives, had failed him.

Speaking during the launch of a new Chapel for GSU officers at Ruiru, Uhuru noted that building a worshipping sanctuary was a good move, but the institution also needed a school in its vicinity.

”Having built this, I think it is a great achievement, and indeed an honour in recognizing that there is one who is greater than all of us,” the president said.

He, however, noted that it was important for the officers serving in the disciplined forces to be constantly aware of the whereabouts of their children at all times.

Tumesema kwamba hawa watoto ni vizuri pia wawe wanachungwa na tutaanzisha shule hapa (We have deliberated and deemed it fit to put up a school in this place so that the children here can be well taken care of),” Uhuru said amid hearty cheers from the audience.

He went ahead to task Matiang’i with overseeing the project up to its completion.

Waziri hiyo kazi nimekuachia, tuanzishe shule hapa (CS, I have assigned you that project of starting a school here),” he instructed the super CS.
