(VIDEO): Over 10,000 Prefects Treat Blushing Sakaja to Birthday Surprise

Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja was on Sunday treated to an overwhelming birthday surprise, by a group of over 10,000 high school prefects, drawn from around the country.

Sakaja, while making his way into Lenana School for the annual Raise Your Game forum, was serenaded by the excited group of discipline-keepers, as he fell short of words and blushed intensively, gesturing his appreciation.

Sakaja, one of the youngest top-ranked politicians, turned 35 on Sunday.

The youthful legislator is a Lenana alumnus. He ventured into politics aged 20, playing an active role in the 2005 Constitution referendum, and the 2007 Mwai Kibaki re-election bid.

He later teamed up with President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013 under The National Alliance (TNA) a political party which he chaired.

Before being voted in as the capital city’s senator, Sakaja was a nominated MP.

Amid the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) quagmire in the country, he aligned himself with Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga, championing for the successful completion of the BBI journey, despite heavy criticism and opposition from allies of Deputy President William Ruto under the Tangatanga umbrella.

”Had a great time speaking to and interacting with >10,000 secondary school prefects from across the county at the annual #raiseyourgame forum today at Lenana. There is hope in this generation.” Sakaja noted on Sunday, in a thread of appreciation for the young students’ gesture.
