Man United Handed Boost in Striker Pursuit

English side, Manchester United is reportedly leading the race for RB Salzburg striker  Erling Haaland after Barcelona pulled out of the race due to the heavy price tag slapped on the Norwegian international.

Salzburg has reportedly slapped a 100 million tag on the 19-year old goal-machine who has already scored 26 goals this season, seven of them coming in the UEFA Champions League.

Juventus, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Barcelona are some of the clubs that were tracking the former Molde man whose goal-scoring exploits have taken everyone by surprise. Juventus are keen on replacing aging Gonzalo Higuain and Mario Mandzukic while Barcelona is looking for Luiz Suarez’ replacement.

Man United view the youngster as a perfect Romelu Lukaku replacement after the Belgian international ditched the Old Trafford side for Inter Milan last summer. Real Madrid want to replace Karim Benzema.

Rodrygo Goes has started his Madrid career on a high but the record European champions are still keen on bringing in one more quality young striker. Kylian Mbappe and Haaland are said to be the two youngsters they have earmarked for signing.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are short of fire-power up front. Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and youngster Mason Greenwood are the only forwards in the team and with the side struggling to score goals, the addition of the Norwegian who worked with Solskjaer at Molde will be a welcomed boost for the team.
