2022 Will be a Life or Death Situation, Moses Kuria Warns

Controversial Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria, has warned 2022 Presidential aspirants of a looming Raila Odinga candidature, terming the oncoming General Election as a life or death situation.

Speaking during a Wednesday morning radio show, the legislator wondered why aspirants should bother campaigning, while it is clear that the race will be between Deputy President William Ruto, and the ODM leader, who are both in it to win it.

“For some people, 2022 is life and death. Another sad sight because, why are we campaigning still?” Kuria posed.

The politician assured doubting Kenyans that Odinga, who under the current constitution is ineligible to run in the Poll, will be on the ballot come 2022.

“I can put a bet, Baba will be on the ballot come 2022. I can start printing t-Shirts & my money won’t go to waste,” Kuria vowed.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the political period that is already heating up, the MP described Ruto and Raila as irresistible and immovable forces respectively, prospecting that Odinga might shock the country with a win.

Baba is a very dangerous candidate, by the way, he has always been so close to getting into Statehouse. So yes, a life and death situation,” he restated.

Kuria, however, raised concerns over the intentions behind President Uhuru Kenyatta and Odinga’s Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), reprimanding the latter for bringing in tribal politics into the just concluded Kibra by-election.

“Baba has lost. First, he brought in bedroom politics and now violence in Kibra. I mean, I was the number one advocate for BBI but now, to see what has been made of it is sad,” Kuria told radio hosts Jeff Koinange and Professor Hamo.

“The divide had been bridged with the handshake, but now, it seems we are back to square one,” he added.

Nevertheless, the MP reiterated his support for BBI, in hope of a peaceful 2022 political period.

“I am in full support of the BBI and the handshake, because of what I saw when I was campaigning for Uhuru in Nyanza.
It was like going to another country, had to use panya routes to get to some of those places, and the Handshake means that all that is done,” Kuria said.
