‘Raila Won The Kibra Battle, Ruto Won The War’- Moses Kuria

Even though Raila Odinga’s candidate in the Kibra by-election won the seat with thunderous victory, Gatundu North Member of Parliament (MP) Moses Kuria believes that Deputy President William Ruto is the ultimate winner of the contest.

According to Kuria, who spoke to hot96 radio on Wednesday, Ruto made massive progress in his political journey compared to the ODM leader.

Gatundu North Member of Parliament Moses Kuria.

“Ruto knew very well he could not win in Kibra, but he went ahead to throw someone in. However, this was very calculated. And of course, he worked his maths by aligning himself with Luhyas.

“Politics is about the bigger picture. Politics is not a branch of literature but a branch of Mathematics. So be keen to note that Raila won the battle but Ruto won the war!” Kuria told the radio.

The Gatundu North legislator also noted that the pockets of violence witnessed in Kibra was a step back to the Building Bridges Initiative course.

“I am in full support of the BBI and the handshake because of what I saw when I was campaigning for Uhuru in Nyanza.

Deputy President William Ruto in Kibra.

“It was like going to another country, had to use a sneaking route to get to some of those places, and a handshake meant all that was done

“So now to see the bedroom politics back in Kibra is sad. The divide had been bridged with the handshake but now it seems we are back to square one.,” added Kuria.

Kuria’s remarks come at a time when he has already demanded Raila and his ODM members to apologise for the pockets of violence witnessed in Kibra.

According to Kuria,  there is no need of having the BBI report yet the chief proponents of the initiative take part in unleashing violence.

The MP also waded into the 2022 succession politics and expressed optimism that the ODM leader will be in the ballot.

He concluded by saying the 2022 race will be between an irresistible force and immovable force; Raila vs Ruto.
