Activities at Dallas Estate, Embu County were paralyzed Thursday after a strange snake was sighted dumped at nearby church.
The shocked residents said the snake wrapped in a sack was dropped by a well-known bar owner who operates in the Estate at around 12.30 am at night.
“The bar owner drove near the church and dropped the suspicious sack before leaving in haste. When we searched the sack we found the strange snake which was alive,” a church watchman Hussein Ali said.
Ali said he called the bar owner who denied ownership of the sack and when he tried to invite him to discuss the matter, he declined wondering what they were to discuss.
Later the bar owner came with security officers who directed the watchman to record a statement. He, however, declined to do so before informing Pastor Peter Mwangi of Faith Keepers Ministry.
One of the area residents, Sarah Njeri said they tried to burn the snake but in vain, while accusing the bar owner of dropping the snake for the purposes of causing accidents through satanic rituals.
She said they suspect the snake was intended for satanic ritual due to business rivalry in the estate. However, Njeri prayed that his effort would not succeed.
On his part, Pastor Mwangi said after morning prayers as he was preparing to start the day’s activity, he was informed about the incident and he conducted cleansing prayers.
He said there was an intense business rivalry in Dallas and some people were involved in witchcraft activities including the use of snakes to promote their clandestine activities.
According to Pastor Mwangi, some business people use snakes to bring to an end God’s work and stifle rival businesses.
“People involved in such activities will not succeed here in Dallas and I urge them to stop satanic rituals and avoid involving themselves in witchcraft,” asserted the Pastor.
The residents finally managed to burn the snake into ashes.
