The world celebrates Michael Jackson’s life 10 years on

Exactly 10 years ago, the world lost a true legend of his time. The world has come together today to celebrate the life of the legendary pop artist Michael Jackson who lived for 51 years and blessed us with some of the best music the world has ever seen.

On June 25, 2009, the singer Michael Jackson died of acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication at his home on North Carolwood Drive in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Michael Jackson did so much for the world, he was a humanitarian on top of his career. His thematic ranch called Neverland was very controversial even after his death.

A widespread famine had affected Ethiopia from 1983 to 1985 and through Ethiopian journalist and photographer Mo Amin, Michael Jackson got to know about it and spread awareness throughout the world. That became the inception of ‘We are the world’ song which enlisted some of the world’s most iconic artists including Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder and Tina Turner among many more to raise funds.

PUBLIC tributes for Michael Jackson on the tenth anniversary of his death today have been ditched following the devastating child sex abuse documentary Leaving Neverland. That, however, hasn’t stopped millions of his fans from posting tributary messages about the star under the hashtag #10YearsWithoutMichaelJackson.
