Selena Gomez Interrupts Her Mental Health Break To Attend WE Day

Selena Gomez put a rest to her mental health medical break and made a rare red carpet appearance on Thursday for WE day. A cause that is really close to her hearts.

WE Day is a youth empowerment celebration of doing social good,  and this year it is being hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.

The forum took place Los Angeles, an event that attracted the likes of Natalie Portman, Hailee Steinfeld, Sarah Michelle Gellar and more stars. The event.

Gomez looked amazing in a black Dior A-line dress and Tamara Mellon pumps.

She also showed off her stunning makeup look in an Instagram post for makeup artist Hung Vanggo.

In Vanggo’s Instagram Stories, she’s seen signing autographs for excited fans.

The WE Day special will air Aug. 9 on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.

The event marks Gomez’ first red carpet appearance since last year in October that she was hospitalized for mental health treatment after a reported emotional breakdown.

It was later revealed that the episode was triggered by a medical complication stemming from her Lupus and a kidney transplant she underwent in July 2017.

Since then, Gomez has slowly been returning to the spotlight. In January, she posted on Instagram following a more than 3-month social media break. 

“It’s been a while since you have heard from me, but I wanted to wish everyone a happy new year and to thank you for your love and support,” Gomez captioned a series of three black-and-white pics. “Last year was definitely a year of self-reflection, challenges and growth. It’s always those challenges which show you who you are and what you are capable of overcoming.”

“Trust me, it’s not easy, but I am proud of the person I am becoming and look forward to the year ahead,” she added. “Love you all.”
