The ongoing by-elections in Wajir West Constituency has been marred with claims of electoral fraud and voter bribery claims.

The public beat up a person whom they claimed was bribing voters at the Wajir West Girls High School on Thursday morning. This is the same venue that Jubilee Candidate Ahmed Kolosh had cast his vote.

Jubilee MPs led by Bashir Abdullahi of Mandera North and Rashid Kassim all pitched camp in Wajir West to campaign for Kolosh who is facing competition from KANU’s Ibrahim Mohammed.

There have been reports that an agent of the KANU candidate was assaulted by one from the Jubilee Party.

KANU’s candidate has also accused IEBC of being partisan, saying that some of his agents were locked out of the various polling station.

The Supreme Court in January, ordered for fresh elections in Wajir West in the case that was filed against the election of Mr Kolosh as its Member of Parliament. The ruling resulted from a petition by Abdirahman Ibrahim Mohammed
