Here are the reasons why Manchester United left De Gea for Arsenal trip

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea failed to travel with the squad to London for the FA Cup clash against Arsenal as manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that he rested him for the game.

De Gea was pictured in Hale heading to a hotel for lunch on Friday with friends and was replaced by Sergio Romero in the squad that headed to Emirates. The Spaniard shot-stopper has been a mainstay at the club missing only five United games through injury or illness during his seven-and-a-half years with the club.

Speaking to MUTV, Solskjaer revealed why his regular goalkeeper missed the clash, “Sergio is a fantastic goalkeeper. We are a team, Sergio is the FA Cup goalkeeper. To keep players like him at the club he needs to play big games as well. He was man of the match against Reading [in the third round], so I’m very confident in him.”
