Silent departure, loud touchdown for Uhuru in US

President Kenyatta has set the pace for the direct flights between Kenya and the United States set to start on October 28th after attending a dinner in New York City hosted by Kenya Airways.

Speaking at the event, the president assured that the government was keen to ensure that the take off is perfect and that the project was successful eventually.

The dinner was attended by influential business and corporate leaders ahead of the inaugural direct flights between Nairobi and New York on 28 October.

President Kenyatta who is in New York for the 2018 Annual United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) lauded the Kenya Airways and its partners for working together towards achieving what he called as a noble idea of having direct flights between Kenya and the US.

“On behalf of Kenyan people I thank the United States Government for working closely with us to make this realization,” said President Kenyatta during the dinner at Rockefeller Plaza in the high-end part of the New York, which is renown for its imposing skyscrapers.
