Murathe Reveals The Deadly Police Unit Awaiting Ruto Allies At Jubilee Party Headquarters; IG Mutyambai Orders for Arrest of MPs Ndindi Nyoro, Alice Wahome & Jomo Gecaga Faces Eviction in Rent Row with Kidero

Good morning,

Today, let us start the week with a feminist conversation.

So on Sunday, elite athletes competed in the 2020 London Marathon.

As usual, Kenya was expected to shine, given the running talent held by our brothers and sisters from the city of champions (Eldoret).

And shine we did, after Brigid Kosgei held onto her title, only, it did not feel like it.

Everyone’s focus was on the men’s category, where, unfortunately, we lost out on gold despite our very own Eliud Kipchoge being among the contestants.

Instead of prioritizing Brigid’s win, alongside the rest of the world, we were busy analyzing and criticizing Kipchoge’s loss.

Yes, it was a blow given his recently set INEOS marathon record, but in his own words after Sunday’s defeat, these things happen!

Nearly a day after, we still feel that Brigid was not celebrated well enough, and upon her homecoming, she probably will not receive a reception as grand Kipchoge, or other male Kenyans who were competing in the race would have received had they emerged victorious.

Lakini si ni life?

Here are the stories making headlines on Opera News today:

Jomo Gecaga Faces Eviction in Rent Row with Kidero

Jomo Gecaga

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s long-serving personal assistant Jomo Gecaga risks eviction from a high-end apartment in Nairobi’s Riverside estate after his family’s fallout with former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero over rent.

JSTA Ltd, which is associated with Jomo’s father Udi Gecaga, is seeking to block its eviction from Gem Suites Riverside apartments that costs $5000 (Sh540,000) monthly.

The company wants the court to intervene in the rent fallout, arguing that the apartment’s occupant “will be seriously prejudiced and suffer untold loss and damage not to mention the embarrassment” once the auctioneers are instructed to seize his assets and attempt to evict him from the apartment.
