Hussein Mohamed Hails President Uhuru After Receiving State Commendation

Former Citizen Tv News Anchor Hussein Mohamed hailed President Uhuru after he conferred him with the prestigious state award.

Hussein Mohamed, who left Citizen TV after a 10-year term, received the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (M.B.S.) award, which is among the top categories of the State commendation. It was conveyed through a special gazette published on 20th December.

The honours, orders, decorations, and medals are usually in recognition of outstanding services rendered to the nation in various capacities and responsibilities.

Sharing on his Twitter page, Hussein said that serving the nation was his true calling and thanked the president for the honour.

“I’m humbled and honored to receive the award of the ‘Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear’, MBS. Thank you, President Uhuru Kenyatta. Indeed, serving the nation is true calling. To the nation that I served&will serve, thank U for the support. Again, see U soon,” read his post.

Hussein Mohamed was among over 400 individuals honoured by President Uhuru Kenyatta with the coveted State commendation during this year’s Jamhuri Day celebrations.

Other celebrities feted with a similar award included Mike Okinyi and Zighe Joyce Msafwari best known as Bi Msafwari, a key figure on Citizen TV’s Nipashe Wikendi show.
