Rising Stars all set for CECAFA U20 semis against EritreaThe Kenya U20 National team is ready for their semifinal match of the 2019 CECAFA U20 Championships slated for Wednesday, October 2, 2019, in Uganda.

The Rising Stars will be facing off with their Eritrean counterparts in their quest for the title and head coach Stanley Okumbi is oozing confidence. He says his players can play better than they did against Burundi in the quarters played on Sunday, September 29, 2019.

“The players showed good character coming from a goal down to beat Burundi in the semis. We are looking forward to carrying this team spirit in the semis and I am confident we will do well,” Okumbi said, as quoted on Football Kenya Federation’s official website.

Against Burundi, the Kenya’s junior team came from behind to finally book a slot in the semis on a 2-1-win courtesy of Benson Omala and Patrick Otieno.

Otieno scored a few minutes into the second half to cancel out Burundian captain Hamimu Hakizimana’s opening goal at the stroke of halftime before Omala- a substitute, scored the winner.

The Wednesday match will be played at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru, Jinja, as from 4 pm EAT.
