Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has exposed ODM leader Raila Odinga’s alleged plan to drag down Deputy President William Ruto into dirty affair in Kibra by-election.

Speaking on Tuesday during a morning political analysis show on NTV, the bullfighter claimed that Raila Odinga was planning to have DP Ruto ashamed in the Kibra by-election.

While observing that the DP had not yet set foot in Kibra for the campaigns, Khalwale alleged that the statement made by some of the ODM MPs on Tuesday was meant to paint the Kibra race look like it was a contest between Raila and Ruto.

“There is a deliberate effort by the Orange Democratic Party to pull the DP into Kibra so that they create a contest between the DP and the former Prime Minister. We will not take that invitation the fight in Kibra is between the contestants,”

He also claimed that the ODM boss was out to create unnecessary tension in the constituency as one way of scaring Mariga’s supporters who according to him were growing day by day.

The former Ford Kenya leader who shifted allegiance to DP William Ruto after the 2017 general elections insisted that the Kibra race was not between the two leaders as ODM would want to insinuate but rather between Mariga and Imran.

He expressed confidence that their candidate Macdonald Mariga was going to emerge victorious while declaring that Jubilee was not going to take ODM’s invitation.

Khalwale’s sentiments come just a day after a group of nine ODM MPs through a press statement made incriminating allegations on the Deputy President William Ruto over his reported involvement in the Kibra by-election.

The legislators on Monday, September 30, 2019, through ODM’s official Facebook account, had accused Ruto claiming that he was looking for war in Kibra.

They went ahead to accuse the DP of being the reason why Kibra residents had suffered the most during the previous post-election violence.

The leaders were responding to alleged Ruto’s Sunday remarks made at Kidudu Stadium in Vihiga county.

According to the reports, Ruto had expressed confidence that Jubilee Party was going to win the Kibra parliamentary seat in the November 7, mini poll at the same time warning Raila Odinga to prepare for an embarrassing defeat.
