Blow For Wazito as Lead Striker is ruled Out of Leopards Clash

Image result for Derrick Onyango wazitoKenyan Premier League side, Wazito FC has been dealt a major blow ahead of Saturday, September 21 match against AFC Leopards after lead striker Derrick Onyango was ruled out of the match through injury.

The lanky forward picked an injury during last weekend’s league match against Western Stima in Kisumu and the club, in a statement has confirmed that the former Mathare United hitman will sit out of the mouth-watering duel.

“Derrick Onyango will miss our match against AFC Leopards scheduled for Saturday 21st September at Bukhungu Stadium due to injury. Our number 9 picked a foot injury after coming on as a second-half sub against Western Stima and is expected to be sidelined for up to two weeks, “the club said in a statement.

According to club physio Noel Mandi, will be out of action for a fortnight.

“Derrick is out of AFC Leopards match.  He picked a foot injury against Western Stima and hasn’t trained with the rest of the team since then.  He will be out for around two weeks or thereabout,” he said.

Derrick joins Joe Waithira on the treatment table. Joe missed the game against Stima with a knock. He has not recovered from it and will sit out of the clash against Ingwe. Other players who will miss the match are; Musa Masika, Joshua Nyatini and Bixente Otieno. The trio is in Uganda with the Kenya U20 team for the 2019 Cecafa U20 Championship that kicks off on Saturday.
