Famous weather man Nguata Francis became a topic of discussion after his retirement was announced by Kenya Met Department.
Nguata would take families through daily weather and following day’ forecast back in the 1990s at KBC TV. People remembered how his forecasts’ could at times fail to be true but he was never a man to give up easily.
He was believed to be the best on-screen when it comes to weather news. How he explained it while striding across the television, a cane in hand and use stickers which he would pin to demonstrate the state of the weather in each location is a scene which will live to be remembered.
His retirement news invited mixed reactions from Kenyans on twitter as they praised him and recounted his way of reporting.
All the best to the good man. He was part of our living rooms during our childhood. Enjoy your retirement sir.

My childhood was all Nguatah. Memories. Fond memories of a time when all I worried about was a Nancy Drew book, uji, and broadcasters.

For a long time he was the face of weather forecasts for a long time. He was fond of “Kutakuwa na rasha rasha ya mvua, hapa na pale”

Wish Nguatah Francis all the best. He could be a great advocate /educator on climate change issues. I'm sure he'll agree that back then the effects of climate change had not ravaged our country. Seasons were regular and agricultural production predictable.
