Wales national team manager Ryan Giggs has heaped praise on winger Daniel James after his scorcher that helped The Dragons beat Belarus 1-0 in an international friendly match on Monday night.
Giggs had contemplated resting the Manchester United ace but decided to play him and the youngster ended up scoring what’s slowly turning to be his trademark goal with a stunning curler into the left corner.
The former Swansea man played for 50 minutes before he was hauled off for captain Gareth Bale. He scored his stunner in the 17th minute curling the ball home from inside the penalty area.
Speaking after the match, Giggs, also a former Manchester United winger hailed the player saying it’s difficult for defenders to stop him. He also disclosed that the winger wanted to play despite the tactician’s initial plan to rest him.
“It’s a difficult one. He’s had a tough couple of months. All of a sudden he’s getting the headlines. Do you rest him; do you keep him in? And he wanted to play. I just gave him 50 minutes and he deserved that goal. He’s one of those players where you know what he’s going to do, but you can’t stop him,” Giggs stated.
James will be hoping to add to his three-goal tally when Manchester United plays Leicester City over the weekend.
