Former Jubilee Vice-Chairman, David Murathe, believes that if Deputy President William Ruto clinches the presidency in 2022 elections, then Kenyans are poised for tough times.

Speaking on Saturday, during the birthday party of KTN’s Point Blank show host Tony Gachoka, Murathe said NASA leader Raila Odinga was best suited to lead the country.

“Our main aim is to make sure that the person (Ruto) does not become President because if he does we are all finished.

“If there is somebody who can stop that guy (Ruto) from becoming President, it is the former Prime Minister. There is nobody else,” stated Murathe.

Besides, the former Gatanga MP scolded the Tanga Tanga members for opposing the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) noting it was unstoppable.

He further added that BBI is a key factor that will shape Kenya’s politics for the next 50 years.

“I hear some people are opposing the BBI. How do you oppose something that you don’t know? Let them wait for the report,” he stated.

On January 6, Murathe resigned as Jubilee Vice-Chairman to allow for his stop-Ruto movement campaign to proceed.

“There is no way I am going to sit in the same NEC with someone who feels I am out to block him from ascending to the presidency. I have quit my position,” he stated after quitting.

He further noted that DP Ruto is not eligible to run for president in 2022 because his fate is constitutionally intertwined with the president’s.
