Hawk-eyed Police net 2 women with bhang stashed on their bodies

Police in Marsabit county arrested two women on Sunday with 4kg of bhang onboard a Nairobi-bound bus.

The suspects, Zainab Adan and Insene Bakala Guyo, were arrested on board Moyale Raha Bus heading to Nairobi from Moyale at the Learata Wamba Junction Samburu East.

The two women allegedly wrapped the bhang around their bodies underneath their buibuis.

Zainab was carrying 17 rolls (1.5kgs) while Insene had 29 rolls (2.5kgs).

The police reportedly intercepted the bus and conducted they normal search upon which they busted and nabbed the two women.

The two woman are in police custody as investigations continue.

This comes just weeks after Police raised alarm about the security measures surrounding these kinds of trucks after it emerged that all kinds of things could happen when they intercepted 135 bales of Narcotic Drugs worth millions of shillings in Nakuru.

According to police, the bhang is believed to have been from Wajir and was being ferried to an unknown destination.

The police commander said this biggest consignment to be nabbed in Nakuru County over the recent past.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested and detained at the Nakuru Central Police Station Nakuru.

Police sources indicate that the Petroleum Tanker had been trailed for hundreds of Kilometers before it was intercepted within Pipeline area by Detectives.

Police had to call a welder to cut open the Petroleum Tanker (which was completely welded) to expose the stuffed bales of Narcotics inside.

In addition, a man transporting a consignment of bhang abandoned his car after an intense police car chase along the Kericho-Nairobi Highway.

Police noticed the man making a suspicious U-turn on the road when they decided to give a chase.

The man sped off to Londiani Police station where he is reported to have abandoned the car and fled on foot.

Upon inspecting the car, police discovered bham]ng worth Sh4.2 million stashed in brown bags.

Londiani Deputy Commissioner Festus Munyao confirmed the incident, stating that the bhang which weighed 223kg in bags was being transported towards Nakuru.
