Chama Cha Mashinani party’s general secretary Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop alias Buzeki over the weekend took to Moi’s bridge region of Uasin Gishu county to popularise his newly found party CCM ahead of 2022.
Buzeki who had attended an official launching of Moi’s bridge Boda-Boda Sacco on Sunday took the opportunity to popularize his CCM party among the locals whom according to him received the party’s agenda well promising to help him change the region once he takes power from the incumbent governor Jackson Mandago.
With current endorsements from some of the Kalenjin community elders, Buzeki is fast gaining ground in areas once under the tight grip of Deputy President William Ruto.
Buzeki recently shifted camp from Deputy President William Ruto to Isaac Ruto’s CCM citing frustrations from some of Ruto’s close allies in specific Soy MP Caleb Kositany and Ruto’s PA Farouk Kibet.
He made the announcement when he hosted more than 5,000 delegates from sub-counties in Uasin Gishu at his home near Ainabkoi.
Buzeki said he had discussed with Rutto and other willing partners on how they will strengthen CCM to stand for the interests of farmers and ordinary Kenyans.
Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Murkomen has said that they will deal with Buzeki and other rebels in 2022.
“We shall deal with them when campaign time comes and we shall separate the wheat from the chaff,” said Murkomen
Kapseret MP Sudi on his part challenged Buzeki to come out clearly and say that he has shifted to the ‘Kieleweke’ group instead of giving excuses. Many in the county have predicted of Buzeki’s downfall in 2022 terming his betrayal on the region’s kingpin William Ruto as the start of his imminent downfall.
Sudi earlier observed that Buzeki was an automatic successor for Jackson Mandago and that he was even ready to campaign for him come 2022 before he withdrew his support for Jubilee party.
“I had offered myself to be a strong supporter of Buzeki, but he is now failing to play his cards well. He should come out clearly, that he and his supporters are joining Kieleweke team instead of using other excuses,” Sudi stated.
Buzeki has so far promised to open Chama Cha Mashinani party in Eldoret town where he will start mobilizing the locals to dump Jubilee and join the party which is yet to announce whether it will have a candidate for 2022 presidential race or will just form coalitions with other parties.
There are rumours going round that the famous mogul might decide to run for the governorship position in his native county of Elgeyo Marakwet but Buzeki has on many occasions insisted that he is going for Uasin Gishu’s seat.
