In a shocking revelation, the man who set himself ablaze moments at a Park near the White House has died.
The man identified as Arnav Gupta was confirmed dead after he was admitted at a hospital with near-fatal injuries from the self-immolation incident on Wednesday.
During the incident, police suspected that Gupta had been under the influence of a banned drug which causes hallucinations.
This is because even after setting himself ablaze, he steadily strolled towards the White House as though nothing much was happening.
Reports indicated that Gupta was admitted with 85 per cent burns, a condition that in itself was fatal.
Police at the White House would rush towards him with extinguishers moments after he was seen on fire.
The officers believe that Gupta was under the influence of a hallucinogen because he defied orders by the cops to roll on the ground even as they extinguished the fire on him.
Elite Secret agents stationed at the White House also said they were closely monitoring the situation and that a team of their members were at the Crime scene combing into the possible reasons that led the man to self-immolation.
This is the second incident where a man is setting himself on fire in what is seen as a protest tactic.
