With hydroponics farming, you can practice the following methods and have fresh vegetables for domestic consumption and have more to sell tp your neighbours. Hydroponics is system of farming that does not require soil. Thus said, one can capitalize on vertical space. Setting up the hydroponics should not be expensive, one should just be creative on tools that will hold water and allows aeration.
The passive bucket is one of the simplest to set up. To set up, one needs a plastic bucket, rooting medium and nutritive fluids. Some amount of lime water is added to lower the acidity. Most crops prefer about 7.0-7.5 pH levels. This system can be used to grow lettuce, kales and spinach et the beginning, later one can advance to cabbages and tomatoes.
The simple bucket system. This is doubtless the easiest to set up. The basic requirement is at least 2 litre bucket, rooting medium and some nutrient solution. This sytem prefers individual plants that are large such as a tomato plant.
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipes is also another idea for convering your backyard into an agribiz hub. These pipes are available at local agrovet stores and selected hardware shops. The pipes are sold as a set up with a reservoir and a set of other equipment. If you want to commercialize your urban farming, this method is appropriate as it allow you grow more crops
Flame hydroponics
The flame hydroponics is almost similar to PVC only that it is set up differently and hence more vertical.
