What Chelsea fans are doing is a clear indication that Arsenal were right to protest the inclusion of goalkeeper Petr Cech for their Europa League final match against Chelsea.
Towards the end of last week, Arsenal fans stormes social media demanding that Unai Emery should play Bernd Leno over Petr Cech against Chelsea.
Arsenal failed to finish in the top-four position or clinch any trophy this season. The Gunners knew too well how the trophy was important for them and would not let go any mess that could cost them.
But what exactly was the reason behind Petr Cech’s rejection?
Arsenal fans had derived their argument from the fact that Chelsea recently made an offer to the 37-year-old after his retirement.
Chelsea have been without a technical director since Michael Emenalo’s resignation in November 2017, as director Marina Granovskaia has taken on the majority of his old duties since he departed the club.
But Emery went ahead and played him in a match that saw Arsenal being thrashed 4-1 by Chelsea. Arsenal fans were keen to identify the mistakes made by Cech to concede the four goals.
Sorry you have to be ruthless Emery playing Cech was a mistake how many more humiliations have we got to take if I am sorry but things have to change mentality not saying it all Cechs thought but sentiment doesn’t win games 😡😡😡😡😡

However, Chelsea fans stormed Twitter to congratulate the double-agent Petre Cech for having given them the four goals. They have even welcomed him back home, promising goodies when he returns.
A true legend of the game.
Congratulations on an incredible career, @PetrCech. 👏 pic.twitter.com/CZwdrZ1dvC

This was Petr Cech’s last match for Arsenal and is set for retirement from the football. But Chelsea are reportedly looking to have him back at the team; not as a player but as the technical football director.
Arsenal, on their part, will brace for another Europa League tournament next season after failing to qualify for the Champions League for the third consecutive times.
Do you think Unai Emery was right to play Petr Cech as their goalkeeper against Chelsea?
