The Baraka hitmaker, Akothee, has been on the front line in standing with the needy. She hit the headlines for a long period after she stood out to support hunger-stricken Turkana county.
Through her Instagram account, she has challenged Kenyans in giving even the least they think cannot help to have lives. She also said that she is ready to lead the way in standing with the county.
Her post read; “Enough of slaying back to real solutions. The journey to Turkana has changed and molded me, things that mattered to me before don’t make sense, I realized that your rags could be someone’s church clothes, your dustbin could be someone’s kitchen.
May the almighty bless Turkana, we are not going to feed them and wait for another calamity to strike, God has shown me the way, I will lead the way, thank you for everyone who participated God bless.”
This comes after Kenyans called on her to vie for a political seat since she has proved to be a good leader compared to the existing leaders.
After Turkana county was hit by hunger calamity, government leaders denied the claims that people were losing lives due to hunger. It even cost a chief’s position after he confirmed that it was true, people were dying of hunger.
The controversial Abebo hitmaker stood out and called on Kenyans to support her in donations.
She donated food, water and cloths. She mingled with the community so well such that she even adopted a Turkan girl who was responsible for the attires she wore while there.
Apart from the donations, she also launched boreholes and medical camps projects. She had also set up a collection station at Wilson airport where Kenyans would take their donations which were later airlifted to Turkana.
