Kakamega County governor Wycliffe Oparanya has reiterated his interest in the 2022 presidency. The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) deputy party leader has said that he will be on the 2022 ballot on an ODM ticket.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV’s News Night, Oparanya maintained that he was running for presidency in 2022.
He said that if at the moment, he will run on his party’s ticket which is ODM.
“Yes am running for presidency in 2022.The party is not an issue, you know am an ODM member and if am to run, i will run on my party’s ticket,” he told Trevor Ombija.

His move to declare his candidature on an ODM ticket has received a warm welcome from some of his supporters who are now urging him to start laying his strategy as early as now.

Oparanya will face out deputy president Dr William Ruto who is at the moment the main threat. Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has also declared his interest in the 2022 presidential polls.
Others who might be on the ballot are Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetangula whose party has declared him as their Presidential candidate, KANU’s Gideon Moi, Amani National Congress’ Musalia Mudavadi and Chama cha Mashinani’s Isaac Ruto who is currently working on revamping his party.
Another one is Mombasa governor Hassan Joho.
