Just how Loyal is Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o to Opposition Chief Raila Odinga?
Raila is undoubtedly Luo Nyanza’s political kingpin and as such when residents heckle him like they did on Monday, it must surely be a cause of concern.
The AU High Envoy for Infrastructure and Development was heckled by a number of Muhoroni residents when he stood up to speak about an industrial park the government wants to build in the area.
The angry Muhoroni residents demanded for compensation before the Government project could be implemented in their turf.
The embarrasing incident once again made Raila Odinga get mocked and ridiculed by his political enemies who told him his days as a Luo Political Kingpin were over.
In the wake of the ugly incident, leaders from Kisumu led by Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o have apologized to Raila.
Nyong’o has termed the ugly incidence a disgrace terming the disruptors as enemies of development.
“It is regrettable that a small band of engineered naysayers who have deliberately decided to resist development in the county as a whole purely for political mileage decided to embarrass our guests,” said Nyong’o.
The Governor has insisted that residents of Kisumu County are happy with Raila Odinga and are infact looking foward to have more development projects in the region courtesy of him.
“We shall not be deterred from continuing with changing Kisumu’s economy for the better to please a few visionless people,” he added.
Governor Nyong’o was not around to receive Raila as he was away in Denmark for official duty.
