Why men are attracted to ladies with bushy eyebrows

Don’t have time to get to the salon? No bother. It turns out that women with bushy eyebrows are more attractive to men.

These days it’s become the norm for women to remove as much hair from their body as possible.

From shaving their armpits to waxing their bikini line, the only place hair ever seems to be found is on their heads.

But according to a study conducted at Oakland University in Michigan, there’s one place that ladies should try and avoid waxing or plucking as much as they possibly can.

I’m talking about your eyebrows because apparently men often find women with thick, bushy eyebrows more attractive.

As part of the study, which was published in the Frontiers in Psychology journal, scientists asked 1,000 people to rate a series of photos to determine attractiveness.

And as you may have guessed, the images of females with bigger, bushier eyebrows were preferred over those with carefully tweezed brows.

Dr Lisa Welling, the study’s senior author, said: “Thicker eyebrows were preferred in female faces.

“It could be that relatively thicker eyebrows signal other qualities, such as a tendency towards more grooming.”

She added: “It is also possible that this preference reflects current fashion trends. Whatever the associated trait, it seems to be particularly desirable in long-term mating context, such as marriage.”

The study’s co-author, Dr Justin Mogilski, further explained: “We expected that thicker eyebrows would be more attractive in a short-term relationship because dense hair indicates higher levels of circulating testosterone.

“We expect that what’s going on is that eyebrows indicate a more complex array of partner qualities than just a person’s sexual behaviour. Our data suggests that people are drawing more information from a person’s eyebrows than previous documented.”
