Ruto Blasted for Launching Fake Projects in Mt. Kenya

It seems the wheels are falling off from William Ruto’s 2022 campaign vehicle, barely months after engaging his campaign vehicle.

In 2018, the Deputy President was branded a tanga tanga person, because of his whistle-stops across the country, launching Jubilee government projects.

In a recent interview with Citizen TV’s Hussein Mohammed, Ruto said that Tanga tanga is what he does best. To him it means monitoring government projects.

But where are these projects?

There is a silent revolt in Mt. Kenya region as governors have accused the Deputy President of launching non-existent projects.

“When visiting Central, the DP comes with promises, but in other areas he initiates tangible developments,” says a politician from the region.

Among the unfulfilled promises is a Sh3 million donation for the construction of a dormitory at AC Primary School in Ol Kalou town.

The DP pledged to give the money more than five months ago when he officiated over a harambee to buy desks for primary schools in the constituency. He donated Sh3 million but none of the schools has received the desks.

The same day, he launched the construction of Captain Road, but no work has been done since.

The billboard he used to launch the construction has been removed and the contractor left the site a few minutes after the DP.

It is for these reasons that most governors have decided to shun Ruto when he visits the region because there is nothing tangible he is going to do.

Last week, Ruto attended a church event at the Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa (AIPCA)  in Muthuani and a cancer awareness event in Mathira Constituency. Most governors did not accompany him.

It is public knowledge that if Ruto is the Jubilee flag bearer in the 2022 election, then his running mate would come from Mt. Kenya, possibly one of the current governors.

But the fact that non of the governors is interested in taking up the role, tells a lot.
