Top Criminal Lawyer Assa Nyakundi is a man between a rock and a hard place. Apart from having to deal with the relevant authorities in relation to the murder of his son, Nyakundi is also faced with an ongoing rebellion in his family where some members seem to have disassociated themselves from him.

It has been revealed that Nyakundi’s remaining son, Noah who was seen crying uncontrollably at his brother’s graveside in Lang’ata, has never visited his father in hospital.

It has also emerged that it was Noah who opposed the idea of burying his brother in Kisii county according to the Abagusii customs.

In the Abagusii community, Joseph, an unmarried adult male, should have been buried at his father’s farm in Ngoso village, Kitutu Chache.

During Joseph’s brief funeral service at the International Christian Church on Mombasa Road, presiding Pastor Philip Kitoto asked people to stop speculating about how Joseph died and let the investigative agencies do their jobs.

“Nobody knows what happened,” said the pastor. “Remember that people’s words can separate families. Instead of speculating, why can’t we take this chance to thank God for the life of Joseph,” he said.

Nyakundi has already recorded a statement with the police from his hospital bed even as his medical records were handed over to the Courts for determination on whether he is fit to stand trial.

As his date with destiny draws even closer, Nyakundi has said that he lost everything when he lost his son and that even if he ends up in prison it will not be worse than losing his son in the way it happened.

“There is nothing more to lose at this point. I have lost everything.” Said Nyakundi.
