Wiz Khalifa is inviting fans to get up close and personal via an upcoming docu-series that provides an inside look at his life and musical career.
On Wednesday, the 31-year-old rapper took to Instagram to announce he’s partnering with Apple Music for “Wiz Khalifa: Behind the Cam” with the five-episode series chronicling his decade-long, from early days with Taylor Gang to his subsequent solo hits.
In a new trailer that premiered via Variety, fans received a sneak peek at the series, which will feature interviews with the rapper’s friends, family and those who were there to witness his career take off.
According to Apple Music’s announcement, the docu-series “will go into the most intimate aspects of Wiz’s life,” featuring archival footage from throughout his career.
“Taylor Gang has been with me since the start, so I wanted to make something to show just how far we’ve come,” Wiz said of the new series.
“Good Morning America” host Michael Strahan, who is an executive producer on the project, added: “Wiz and I both share a passion for family, friendship and hard work, and that’s exactly what you’ll see from him in this series. We’re excited to team up with Apple Music and give the world an intimate look into the rise of an entertainment icon.”All five episodes of “Wiz Khalifa: Behind the Cam” will be available to stream on Wednesday, April 17 on Apple Music.
