Big win for Ruto,Kalonzo as Raila humiliated in Embakasi South and Ugenya

The win for a Wiper candidate by election has been announced as a win for deputy president William Ruto and Wiper Kalonzo Musyoka.

Ruto was allegedly bankrolling Wiper candidate Mr Julius mawathe.

On Friday Wiper Candidate Julius Mawathe was announced as the winner after scoring 21432 against Irshad Sumra 16512.

In Ugenya ODM lost to Movement for Democracy and Growth party candidate David Ochieng .

Mr Ochieng garnered 18,730 votes to defeat ODM’s Chris Karan who got 14,507 votes. Other contestants were Daniel Juma of Grand Dreams Development party who garnered 78 votes followed by Thirdway Alliance party’s Brian Omondi (27).

Also contesting in Embakasi South were Ms Roseline Awino (MTP), Mr Ramesh Gorasia (DP), Mr Urbanas Kalumba (PNU), Mr Augustine Kavindu(GCK), Mr Samuel Masaki (FPK), Mr Zablon Minyonga (KNC) and Mr Alexander Mulatya (MCC).

Others are Mr Jairus Musyoka (GDDP), Mr Enosh Nyakweba (KSC), Mr Angela Nyalita(TAK), Mr Enock Nyaribari (RLP), Mr Peter Ogeta (PDU) and Mr Credius Oigara (JFP).

Embakasi South by-election Orange Democratic Movement contestant Irshad Sumra conceded defeat before the IEBC announces the official results . He has congratulated Wiper candidate Julius Mawathe for the early lead.

“I had also planned well but I guess my finishing was poor. So, I will work with Mr Mawathe since he has won this contest fair and square,” he said.

And added: “My party leader also called and congratulated me for my input in the by-elections. However, Nasa hasn’t lost because we have been both first and second in the contest. I also want to convey my sincere appreciation to my party leader Mr Odinga for having faith in me and giving me the mantle in the contest,” said Mr Sumra.

While Opposition leader Raila Odinga campaigned for Sumra, his Wiper counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka fronted Mawathe. The two candidates were the front-runners in the by-election.

Kalonzo had warned ODM to prepare for a tough battle noting that the sibling rivalry wasn’t healthy.

On December last year,the Supreme Court had nullified the election of Embakasi South MP Julius Mawathe noting that the results declared after the August 8, 2017 elections were unsupported by any evidence.

Jubilee party had opted to support the wiper candidate mr Julius Mawathe whom Moses Kuria among other candidates had declared suitable.

political pundits believes that William Ruto used Mawathe candidature to measure his popularity in preparation for 2022.

They now believe that Mr Odinga is losing his popularity at a high rate compared to a decade ago where he would declare candidate and win.

In Ugenya ODM also lost to a little known political party.

Upon the result declaration a lot there was massive destruction after ODM supporters refuted the results.

They broke the chairs even after their candidate declared that the results were free and fair.
