After ODM candidate for Embakasi South successfully won the petition against Wiper’s Julius Mawathe,the diplomatic Kalonzo Musyoka reached out to ODM leader Raila Odinga and requested him abandon the seat as all isnt lost as they subscribe to NASA ideologies.
Raila rubbished Kalonzo and said that that its democratic right for every candidate to contest.
ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, while accompanied by Makadara MP Hon. George Aladwa and Ruaraka MP Hon. TJ Kajwang were quoted saying that the affiliate parties should forgo the Embakasi South parliamentary seat and instead back Irshad Sumra, warning that ODM would ‘humiliate’ any other candidate from the coalition .
The leaders also claimed that NASA – comprising of ODM, Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper, Senator Moses Wetang’ula’s Ford Kenya and Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC, died a year ago.
Furious Kalonzo told mr Odinga then to prepare for a tough war that ODM rubbished and considered as a mere threat considering their popularity.
Speaking after its candidate was cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), party leader Kalonzo Musyoka said the Embakasi South seat belongs to Wiper and exuded confidence that Julius Mawathe will win regardless of who vies for the same seat.
“This is a big day for our party, and I want to assure that nothing will stop Mawathe from winning this election. The seat belongs to him and our friends should be ready for a serious race; we are confident that Embakasi South residents know what he has so far done for them and they will come in large numbers to vote for him again,” Kalonzo said.
Anonymous source within Wiper circles has hinted that Kalonzo reached out to deputy president William Ruto and requested him not to field a candidate a request the DP agreed.
He further requested a DP to send underground and youthful MPs lead by Moses Kuria among others to campaign for the Wiper candidate.
“Kalonzo was very furious with the manner in which mr Odinga acted,he reached out to Ruto and NASA CO principals whom they agreed,”he states.
On his Facebook post Gatundu south MP Moses Kuria said that Mawathe Win is the win for the DP and ODM leader Raila Odinga should prepare for a tough battle ahead.
” I send my condolences to Baba for losing both at home in Ugenya and away in Embakasi South. From the foregoing it is clear that 2022 is an outright two horse dead heat between William Ruto and myself. I seek your support Baba,”Kuria said.
Kikuyu Mp Kimani Ichugwa an ally of deputy president was happy that ODM lost,he said ODM was focused on their evil schemes of vigilante justice and politics of division.
He states that James Orengo the former MP Ugenya was busy plotting how to impeach a Deputy President, but couldn’t deliver a Single Parliamentary Seat in his village.
Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula was also happy for Mawathe win terming it as historical
On Facebookpage,Wetangula whom he had campaigned for Mawathe and mr Ochieng for Ugenya congratulated them for the win.
“I want to Congratulate Hon Julius Mawathe and Hon David Ochieng for their win in the Embakasi South and Ugenya parliamentary byelection respectively”he said.
‘I led the Ford Kenya brigade in support of Mawathe when he presented nomination papers at the constituency IEBC offices, my team has been actively on ground and during the last rally at Mukuru kwa Reuben grounds, with my brother Kalonzo Musyoka ,we assured the MP elect of our support,”he said.
Political analysts now believe that Mr Odinga was mislead by his foot solders led by Mr Orengo and ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna who they minted cash from the candidates during direct certificate awarding.
They argue that Orengo has been misleading Mr Odinga on various occasion on matters politics.
Now Kalonzo,Musalia and Ford Kenya are planning to forge an alliance that would see them work together for preparation for 2022.
