A story of a class 8 pupil who committed suicide left teachers and fellow students in tears wondering what could have transpired.
A Class Eight pupil at Soprangenya Primary School in Magugu Central Location in Nyatike, Migori County committed suicide hours after sitting his end of term examination.
Area Assistant Chief Jeremiah Okoth said the body of the pupil was found hanging on a rope tied to a tree located several kilometers from the school by herders who reported the matter to the family of the deceased.
He said their preliminary investigations had established that the boy left school for lunch break together with other pupils but never reached home.
They are, however, yet to establish why the pupil opted to commit suicide.
The body was moved to Lake Side Hospital mortuary pending police investigation
