Man-hunt launched for househelp who abducted one-year old in Ng’ong

Ngong family in distress after househelp disappears with 1-year-old baby

Baby Emmanuel Wamwere was last seen on March 2nd at their home in Ngong Township on Saturday.

An alert shared by Missing Child Kenya on their Twitter handle shows Baby Wamwere is alleged to have been stolen by his nanny, Hannah Nyansorora.

“Emmanuel wamwere is one year and 3 months old. His whereabouts are unknown after the housemaid by the name Hannah Nyansorora disappeared with him,” wrote Kenneth Chege.

According to the baby’s mom, Bancy Muthike, efforts by the police in Ngong to trace the domestic worker have not yielded any fruits.

Further reports by WishFM show Muthike said she had employed the househelp for only 21 days and had not taken her ID details because she did not have one. “I came back at around 4 pm and was shocked to find the door locked though I had cautioned the maid against leaving the house because I did not have a spare key,” she was quoted.

She also said the police traced her mobile phone signal to Isinya but they have not been able to arrest the girl or find baby Emmanuel Wamwere. “Since Sunday, March 3, I have gone to Isinya countless times in search of my son,” she said. Muthike said she got the househelp from Igembe through a friend who is an aunt to the girl.
