The 31-year-old Nigerian born former wrestler said, ” I always envisioned the win, not for me or my family and not just for the continent of Africa but for everyone across the world that come from humble beginnings, that do not know where their meal is going to come from, don’t know where their next meal is come from…this was for everybody”

According to the BBC, Usman, a former winner of the Ultimate Fighter TV show, began wrestling at a high school in Texas and was a top prospect throughout college.

Speaking about his fighting career before joining UFC he said, “It was kind of time to make a switch and not just be a wrestler anymore, but to be a fighter and to go and make a living for not just myself but my family as well,” he told Sportsworld.”
