The sacking of former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa came as some sort of shock to a number of Kenyans.
To some Kenyans though, Echesa’s sacking was long overdue and it was just a matter of time before President Kenyatta’s cracked his whip on him.
President Kenyatta finally exercised his powers and sent Echesa packing.
Echesa seem to have finally accepted his fate as sealed by the Head of State.
Unlike his previous claims on opposition Chief Raila Odinga, Echesa has admitted that President Kenyatta is indeed the appointing authority in the Country and has as such accepted his sacking.
Echesa was speaking at a burial ceremony at Amarinda in Kakamega county.
“The president has constitutional powers as the appointing authority to hire and fire. So what happened yesterday I also saw it on television and so I am waiting for answers to be told what I did wrong,” Echesa said.
The Echesa has however not found answers as to what he actually did wrong to warrant President Kenyatta’s shocker.
He is now waiting for answers on the same as he ponders on his next move which might be strategizing to go for a political post come 2022.
Kenya being the Country it is, Echesa certainly stands a chance of clinching a political seat come 2022.
Echesa was sacked on Friday morning and Ambassador Amina Mohamed moved to the Sports docket.
