Uhuru sends strong message to Matiangí

Corruption has denied millions of Kenyans access to essential services, President Uhuru Kenyatta has said.

Speaking at Supreme Court on Thursday during the release of the 2017-2018 Judiciary annual report, the commander in chief of the armed forces called upon the Chief Justice David Maraga to ensure cases involving the loss of funds in government projects are prioritized.

Uhuru, who is completing his second and final term in office, said that it is unfortunate that the government is losing billions at the expense of projects that could have changed the lives of the taxpayers.

He assured Kenyans that he is committed in the fight against graft. Uhuru also faulted some individuals using courts to block the implementation of some cases because of their ill-motives.

“As I speak today, projects worth colossal amounts of money have stalled, either because the courts have put injunctions or stopped the processes altogether.”

Uhuru, who is committed towards the implementation of the Big Four Agenda also noted that he is aware of individuals who want to take advantage of the courts to frustrate his leadership.

He maintained that he is not going to take it lightly anymore because billions of money are getting lost through the graft. He reassured Kenyans that bending of justice is going to be a thing of the past as long as he remains in power.
