Ruto-Allied Cabinet Secretaries Anger Uhuru as He Turns His Guns on Them

The Dam Scandal is proving to be the last straw to an already angry President Kenyatta. Time and again, President Kenyatta has always said that he will stem out th weed of corruption.

He has however been unable to fully earn the trust of Kenyans in the fight against corruption with many arguing that he is like a barking Dog that does not bite.

The Kerio Valley Development Authority’s Sh63 billion dam projects scandal has had a number of Cabinet Secretaries allied to Deputy President William Ruto adeversely mentioned over their roles in the whole saga.

Two Cabinet secretaries could face charges of negligence or even conspiracy to steal public funds meant for dams in Rift Valley.

With this in mind, President Kenyatta is already ringing the Changes bell and is expected to sack the two Cabinet Secretaries anytime soon. The two are suspected to be Finance CS Rotich and his water Counterpart CS Chelugui.

Uhuru is unhappy with the negative publicity his government is receiving and plans to ask those linked to corruption to resign or be fired.

“The President has been consulting. He is very unhappy that some of the people he has trusted to serve Kenyans have been caught with their hands in the cookie jar,” a senior official at Harambee house said.

Uhuru has asked the DCI to expedite investigations into scandals that have hit his government.

The two Cabinet Secretaries are among a number of people DCI George Kinoti is investigating for the possible loss of Sh63 billion, which was meant for the construction of Arror and Kamwarer dams in Elgeyo Marakwet county.
