Sonko pledges Millions to Ruai women to start businesses

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko together with the Nairobi County First Lady Primrose Mbuvi offered to give millions to Ruai women to start businesses and improve the living standards of their society.

The women will be funded with 2 Million as capital for their businesses once the market is operational.

This offer was made during the officiating ceremony over the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Ruai Open Air Market in Kasarani Sub-County.

Mike Sonko noted that once complete, the market will hold more than 5,000 traders.

Other similar projects that Sonko is overseeing include the ongoing construction of the new Kariokor leather market in Starehe Constituency.

The new market which is adjacent to the old Kariokor Market will help to reduce traffic at the old market and also boost trade in the City.

Once the new market is fully operational, it will help to create jobs and boost income for traders in Nairobi especially for cobblers.

The governor has ensured that the need of his people remains a priority and has always been taking up development projects as well as addressing  youth concerns.

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko challenged the  youth to be creative and  all ways and aggressive in  looking for job as well as developing the city.

As the government strives to create job opportunities, Sonko said that they youth can as well create job opportunities for themselves and their respective Youth and Women Groups.
