According to The Mirror, Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has met with Paris Saint Germain owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi over the Director of Football role at the club. Wenger is yet to return to management after leaving Arsenal last summer to be succeeded by Unai Emery at the Emirates. Al-Khelaifi hosted Wenger in his private box at the WTA Doha tournament, according to French outlet L’Equipe.
As well as his role at PSG, Al Khelaifi is also the president of the Qatari Tennis Federation. The details of the discussion between the pair are unclear, however their meeting has fuelled speculation Al-Khelaifi could be ready to make a change in the Parc des Princes dugout. Current boss Thomas Tuchel has an increasingly strained relationship with sporting director Antero Henrique in the French capital. PSG’s domestic domination in France shows no signs of slowing up, however. \
They have won 21 and drawn two of their 24 games so far this season, suffering only one defeat, and sit 15 points clear of nearest rivals Lille with a game in hand. The Parisians are also well set to qualify for the last eight of the Champions League having won the first leg of their last-16 clash against Manchester United 2-0 at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed Neymar will return to Brazil under club supervision for 10 days to continue his recovery from an injury to his fifth metatarsal. Neymar suffered the latest metatarsal injury in mid-January, and PSG released a statement Thursday stating the £200 million man would return to Brazil for the latest leg of his recovery:
“As part of the treatment of the injury of his fifth right metatarsal, Paris Saint-Germain has decided to send Neymar Jr to Brazil for 10 days. The Brazil international striker will leave this Thursday, accompanied by a medical team from the club, to continue specific treatment, scheduled after the medical care he has already received in Paris, as well as in Barcelona, since the end of January.”
