The Jackpot company in South Africa which is awarding the winner the highest amount ever in Africa has said the winner is yet to collect his money.
The unidentified man won a whooping Sh1.6billion (R232 million), but still the money is laying unclaimed at the company, Powerball jackpot, Ithuba Holdings, South Africa’s national lottery operator, has said.
The winner correctly matched five numbers and a PowerBall that was standing at R232 131 750 after 24 winner-less draws.
The winning combination for the PowerBall jackpot was 14, 18, 21, 26, 35 PowerBall: 5
However, the winner has 365-day period to claim their prize, thereafter the cash prize gets forfeited.
The winner becomes the first person in South Africa to win the biggest PowerBall jackpot after a man from Secunda, Mpumalanga, won the R145 million Powerball jackpot in August 2018.
