Not many Kenyans knew Joseph Kori or perhaps heard that name before until he recently came to limelight but through a most controversial issue.
Kori was a businessman until some two weeks ago when he became on of the key suspects in the murder case of his wife Mary Kamangara.
The 41-year-old father of two has been accused of killing his wife with his mistress Judy Wangui Mungai at her Four Ways Junction apartment, which he used to pay Sh60,000 per month.
Before he got his fortune, Koru tried many businesses before he met his first wife Grace Wanjiku Kariuki, whom he had one daughter with before abandoning them.
It was at this moment when he met the deceases, Mary Kamangara. The deceased had a wide connection, which helped him earn his first big tender.
They then got married and bore children.
To the surprise of many, the woman who is now accusing him of ditching her with her child is Grace Wahu Wangari, who claims to have met Kori back on October 20, 2007, at a hotel where he used to work.
In an interview with the Nation, Wahu recounts of their meeting and falling in love until they had a son, who is now 10 years old.
If it were not for the murder case issue, Wahu said she wouldn’t have known more about her baby’s father.
She claims that Kori has not been taking care of their son.
We always [ended up] in bitter exchanges whenever I mentioned that I needed money to take care of the boy. With time I despaired and decided to let him be,” she told the Nation.
As it stands, the number of women involved with Kori if five, including Florence Wangari who is believed to be his business partner.
All these issues came as a result of the death of Ms Kamangara, who was murdered under yet to be known circumstances.
She will be laid to rest on February 23, 2019.
