Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed both Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard will miss Manchester United’s clash with Liverpool next weekend.
The duo have been key men for the Red Devils since Solskjaer’s arrival as caretaker boss.
Martial has impressed on the left side of attack, while England international Lingard has thrived at the point of a midfield diamond, as well as operating from wide on the right when United have reverted to 4-3-3.
The pair started in the Champions League loss to Paris Saint-Germain in midweek but both left the field injured with neither appearing in the second half.
“I think they’ll be out for two to three weeks,” Solskjaer conceded at his press conference this afternoon. “And when you’re thinking it might be the time for some young players like Mason Greenwood he’s injured as well!”
Liverpool travel to Old Trafford next Sunday hoping to take another stride towards the Premier League title.
