Sarit Centre Management Tells Kenyans to Stay Calm As Terrorist Claims Merely A Hoax!

Sarit Centre, one of Nairobi’s high-end shopping complexes, has dismissed claims of an impending terror attack alert that was making rounds on social media yesterday evening.

The alert, which was shared via different groups on Whatsapp read as follows:

“Hi all pls avoid Sarit Centre there is an alert. Tell your friends and family and take care. Alerted by some people on the ground that heavy police presence to avert possible attack.”

Nonetheless, in a response to its customers, the management running the shopping complex informed the public that the impending attack alert was mere gossip emanating from the rumour mill.

The statement released by the complex regarding the attack reads as follows:

“We would like to ensure all our shoppers and the public at large that these messages are merely gossip and should be treated as such. We have not received any specific alert from the authorities regarding a heightened state of security at the Sarit Centre and we continue to work with them to do our level best to provide our shoppers with a safe and comfortable shopping environment,” read part of the statement.”

Additionally, the complex management has requested the public to remain calm and desist from sharing information that has no merit or verification.

Indeed, the facility’s management believes that such messages only serve to spread unwarranted panic and fear, and potentially harm the dozens of businesses housed by the shopping complex.

Nonetheless, the alert comes barely a month since the horrific Dusit D2 attack that left 21 Kenyans dead.

That being said, Kenyans got to witness the massive response of the various police and government entities that resulted in the rescue of hundreds of lives.

Indeed, the various counter-terrorist departments seem more than ready to handle any impending terror attacks to guarantee the safety of Kenyans as they go about their daily lives.
