Attackers poison school drinking water in Kirinyaga

In a strange attack of Kaminji Primary School in Kirinyaga County, pupils found their classrooms damaged and drinking water poisoned.

In the incident that has left many residents wondering what motivated the attack, the pupils were met by shattered window panes and a foul smell coming from school water tank.

It is reported to have taken place on Monday night by people who are et to be identified.

According to school head teacher Henry Gitura, the attackers were out to disrupt learning in the school.

Mwea MP Kabinga Wathayu condemned the attack, pledging funds to fence the school.

“I will allocate Constituency Development Funds to put up a fence round the school for security purposes,” said Mr Wathayu.

As news of the raid spread, police have launched investigations by questioning teachers and pupils.
