Kenya will support Congo in achieving political stability; Kenyatta says

President Kenyatta today hosted the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, H.E. Felix Tshisekedi, at State House, Nairobi.

President Tshisekedi’s is in Kenya for a two day visit which is aimed at strengthening ties between our two countries.

The head of state assured President Tshisekedi of Kenya’s commitment in helping the DRC achieve political stability.

“Kenya has learned valuable lessons from past political tensions, which the country is willing to share with the Great Lakes nation.” he said

Kenyatta also added that Kenya will partner with  Congo in capacity building by offering training opportunities to Congolese public servants in Kenya’s training institutions such as the Kenya School of Government.

Last month, President Kenyatta and Raila Odinga are  among the Kenyan leaders who attended his Inauguration ceremony  and sent him a congratulatory message after his big win.

Earlier today, Raila Odinga held a meeting with President Felix Tshisekedi of the DRC who is visiting the country focusing on areas of mutual interest and cooperation with a particular emphasis on the role of infrastructure in development on the continent.

Raila Odinga offered his support to the DRC President as  he embarks on the difficult task of putting the DRC on the path of democracy, unity and prosperity.

Kenya- Congo meeting will go a long way into boosting the relations between the two countries as they focus on development.
