Vocal Ford Kenya Deputy party Leader and Kitutu Chache legislator Richard Onyonka says he will strip naked if a contractor working on one of the major roads passing through his constituency will not be allowed back to work.
Onyonka led several demonstrators from his constituency to the Kisii County Commissioner Godfrey Kigochi’s office on Tuesday demanding to know why a Chinese contractor had abandoned his work.
“We cannot sleep in our houses because of the dust. My wife and children are both sick and I have lost my voice because of the dust emanating from the road,” said Onyonka.
He added: “We have sought an address from the County Commissioner and he has promised us that water will be sprinkled on the road in the next two days. We are not begging for such services. If he will not have fulfilled his promise within the agreed period I will strip naked.”
He said he was aware that President Uhuru Kenyatta was due to visit the region in the next one week.
